Welcome to Corpus Christi's Career Development Centre!

Corpus Christi offers numerous opportunities for you to gain volunteer and work experience, both on and off campus.

These opportunities offer many potential advantages. You can build your personal profile, beef up your resume, and make new connections. You can expand your network and gain some real-world, on-the-job experience. In many cases, these opportunities are paid.
Download the Corpus Christi College App Jobs Tile where opportunities are added and updated weekly, or contact Sarah Scali in the Career Development Centre (Rm 104) at sscali@corpuschristi.ca for more information and available opportunities!

Experiential Learning Opportunities

Student volunteer and job opportunities are often described as "experiential learning" opportunities. Experiential learning is learning through experience, or learning by doing. Examples include volunteering (local and global), work study, practicums, internships, and employment.
Experiential Learning is beneficial for your personal growth and skills development for future education, careers and your resume!

Experiential Learning opportunities through Corpus Christi College can be recorded on your Co-Curricular Record.

Co-Curricular Record Program

Corpus Christi College has launched a Co-Curricular Record (CCR) Program through our Advising Office. The CCR Program allows students to find meaningful volunteer and work opportunities on and off campus, and have their experiences documented on an official, printed post-secondary record.
The purpose of the record is to highlight and validate student learning that happens outside of the classroom, organize it and document it in an official way. It creates credibility for the students experiences that can be used when applying for future schools or jobs.

Students who are interested in work and volunteer opportunities, on and off campus, can begin by completing a Student Employment Form. Email completed your completed form to Sarah Scali (sscali@corpuschristi.ca) or drop it off at the Career Development Centre in Room 104. This form allows us to capture your information and contact you directly about future volunteer and work opportunities that fit your interest and skill. For updated opportunities, please download the Corpus Christi College App and click on the "Jobs" Tile, or see Sarah Scali for more information!

Why Do More?

#5: Volunteers gain professional experience.
You can test out a career and build your resume!
#4: It promotes personal growth and self-esteem.
Understanding community needs helps foster empathy and self-efficacy.
#3: You learn a lot about yourself and others.
Volunteers learn things like these:
• Self: Volunteers discover hidden talents that may change your view on your self-worth.
• Government: Through working with local non-profit agencies, volunteers learn about the functions and operation of our government.
• Community: Volunteers gain knowledge of local resources available to solve community needs.
#2: It's good for you.
Volunteering provides physical and mental rewards. It:
• Reduces stress: Experts report that when you focus on someone other than yourself, it interrupts usual tension-producing patterns.
• Makes you healthier: Moods and emotions, like optimism, joy, and control over one's fate, strengthen the immune system.
#1: You get a chance to give back and make a difference!
People like to support community resources that they use themselves or that benefit people they care about. Remember, every person counts!
