Financial Aid & Scholarships

Our awards recognize academic excellence, service, and/or need. Entrance awards are granted on a rolling basis (when you apply), and specific awards will be announced in the spring of each year.

If you wish to be considered for all financial awards, your application and all supporting documents must reach the College before April 15. Those applying for specific awards must follow the directions associated with the individual award.

The Archbishop Exner, OMI Scholarship

Catholic student with a strong academic record, commitment to service. Graduate from any secondary school. An applicant must submit an essay (not to exceed 1000 words) detailing  student's involvement in parish or social justice causes and what he/she hopes to bring to the Catholic college (Corpus Christi College).An applicant must also submit a letter from their parish pastor or a supervisor confirming student’s active participation required on application and at the commencement of the Winter term.

$3,500 per year for 1 year

Newman Association of Vancouver Scholarship Honouring John Henry Cardinal Newman

Catholic student who exemplifies true Christian virtues as demonstrated through scholarship, leadership and communication. Graduate from any secondary school. An applicant must submit a 300-word essay describing how he or she envisions such values be sustained upon his or her graduation from Corpus Christi College.

$1000 to a 2nd-year student
Mary Clohosey Award

The applicant will be a graduate from any secondary school who demonstrates improving academic achievement and is active in "good works."  An applicant must submit an essay (not exceeding 500 words) on "Keeping the Faith after Corpus Christi College."

Mitton Family Scholarship

An endowed scholarship awarded to a student or students from a non-English speaking background.  An applicant must submit a 300-word essay on how they would bring diversity to the Corpus Christi Collegecommunity as well why they have chosen to attend a Catholic college and what they hope to bring in terms of their beliefs.

Archbishop J. Michael Miller Scholarship

An endowed scholarship awarded to two students who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement and Catholic leadership.  Graduate from any secondary school. An applicant must submit an essay (not exceeding 1000 words) describing their involvement in Catholic leadership activities in past 12 months together with a reference letter from a leader in such activity/activities confirming the student’s participation required on application and at the commencement of the Winter term.

Bursaries

Otello P. Nocente Memorial Bursary An endowed bursary awarded to a student with good academic achievement and who has demonstrated financial need. $300

Awarded to a 1st or 2nd year student who has demonstrated active involvement in social justice causes. Graduate from any secondary school. An applicant must submit a 500word essaydetailing student's involvement in parish or social justice causes plus a letter from the parish’s pastor or a supervisor confirming student’s active participation required on application and at the commencement of the Winter term.

Notes

1. All financial aid and awards are for tuition remission only and do not apply to other student fees. 

2. Named awards are adjudicated following the April 15 deadline of each year and apply to the upcoming Fall and Winter semesters.

3. The final decision on awards rests with the Administration of the College. Unless otherwise indicated, awards are based on full-time study (five 3-credit courses per semester). A reduction in course load results in a corresponding reduction in financial aid.

 

Work-Study

Qualified students who exhibit financial need may be eligible to participate in on-campus employment where payment is in the form of tuition remission. Please contact the Registrar for information: registrar@corpuschristi.ca

 

Loans

Corpus Christi College students are eligible for government and bank loans. To apply for a student loan through StudentAid BC,  go online to http://www.aved.gov.bc.ca/studentaidbc/apply/howtoapply.htm  and apply.  Note: Students bring the Appendix 3 form to the Registrar’s Office for completion.

 

Financial Awards Deadline

Financial Awards requiring an application must be received by Corpus Christi College by April 15 to be eligible. This is a fixed and firm annual date.
