Tony (Shubhayu) Mookerjee holds Master of Science (Economics) and MBA degrees from Virginia Tech., in Blacksburg, VA, United States, and a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Economics with a minor in Pure Mathematics from the University of Calcutta, India.
Tony has been actively involved in management consulting and economic consulting/economic analytics projects spanning India, United States and the United Kingdom. His major consulting projects encompassed techno-economic viability of mining operations in several World Bank and DfID (UK) funded public sector restructuring projects. Most of this experience was garnered during his time working with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). Other employers have included Frost & Sullivan Inc. in the United States. Tony’s lifelong passion for teaching has taken him to several renowned educational institutions in India, the United States and Canada. Tony has taught teaches Economics, Statistics, and Operations Management at several other schools. His core teaching philosophy rests on imparting basic concepts to students in the most lucid manner.

Tony’s primary academic interests are primarily in Econometrics, Applied Statistics, and Mathematical Economics. In 2021, he co-authored a short paper on the applications of ‘Appreciative Inquiry’ to undergraduate economics education. This was presented at the October 2021 PGDIA Conference in Vancouver.
