Help Students Overcome Barriers

Oct 27, 2024

Many young people do not pursue university because of the cost. Thanks to generous donations, Corpus Christi College and St. Mark’s College at UBC offer scholarships so that no deserving student will be turned away from Catholic higher education.

Adam, the recipient of needs-based financial support, values the opportunity to study at Corpus Christi, saying, “I am so grateful for the privilege to have an education knowing others struggle due to financial reasons. I will always be an East Van boy and plan to pay it forward to everyone who has been so generous to me and my family.”

Julie, a Catholic school teacher, began a life-changing journey after she received a scholarship and started her master’s degree at St. Mark’s. “I was interested in finding ways to articulate my beliefs and to build confidence in defending my faith… I engage in conversations with people of all faiths or no faith and want to represent the Church in an intelligent and truthful light.”

Corpus Christi-St. Mark’s receives no government funding and your support makes Catholic higher education in Vancouver possible. Join us on Nov. 16 for our Annual Fundraising Breakfast—benefitting student scholarships and academic programs: bit.ly/afb2024 Contact: 604.822.5438/[email protected].
